Separase inhibitor

Functions

Inhibitor of separase (a cysteine protease that triggers chromosome segregation during mitosis and is highly overexpressed in many cancers), but not the related protease caspase-1, in vitro. HeLa cells with dysregulated separase activity showed severe chromosome segregation defects on treatment with 30 µM SIC5-6 indicating a potential attractive new chemotherapeutic target.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to at least 50 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 month.
