Applications

HDAC inhibitor

Functions

Inhibits histone deacetylases (HDAC) 1 and 3 (IC50~0.6 µM) and HDAC8 (IC50~1 µM) and is less toxic compared to trichostatin A. Induces cell cycle arrest and epigenetic changes in colon cancer cells. Together with DRB-inhibition of RNA synthesis, scriptaid enhances gene reprogramming in somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) embryos. Increases exercise endurance in mice.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 4 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20° for up to 2 months.
