Functions

Rimonabant is a selective CB1 receptor inverse agonist (Ki = 1.8 nM). It is an anorectic antiobesity drug originally approved for use in Europe but eventually withdrawn from the market because of potential severe psychiatric side effects.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 20 mg/ml) or in Ethanol (up to 20 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
