Applications

DAG lipase-a inhibitor

Functions

A lipase inhibitor which blocks the biosynthesis of 2-AG by inhibition of DAG lipase-α. Inhibits pancreatic lipase and other lipases but not PLA2. Inhibits fatty acid synthase and displays antitumor activity. Prevents fat absorption in the gut and is a clinically useful antiobesity agent.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 50 mg/ml) or in Ethanol (up to 50 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or Ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 week.
