Opioid receptor antagonist

Functions

Naloxone (357-08-4) is a pan-opioid receptor antagonist, Ki=3.7, 9.2 and 33 nM for m, k and d opioid receptors respectively. In clinical use in opiate abuse and overdose rescue. Blocks opiate- promoted wound healing. Attenuates the pruritic response to rimonabant in a rat model.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 25 mg/ml) or in Water (up to 25 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or distilled water may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 months.
