Metergoline is an ergot alkaloid derivative acting as antagonist at serotonin 5HT1 and 5HT2 receptors and 5HT7 receptors. A safe and effective agent for management of hyperprolactinemic amenorrhea and anovulation. Displays a long lasting antidepressant effect in seasonal affective disorder.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (40 mg/ml); or ethanol (4 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 months.
