Applications

FXR antagonist

Functions

A natural steroid from Commiphora mukul extract (guggulipid) which lowers cholesterol and acts as an FXR antagonist. Attenuates astrocyte-mediated neuroinflam-mation. Induces differentiation of pluripotent stem cells to dopaminergic neurons. Produces antidepressant-like effects via activation of the BDNF signaling pathway in mouse models.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 6 mg/ml with warming) or in Ethanol (up to 3 mg/ml with warming), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
