Functions

A naturally occurring isoflavone isolated from Astragalus and other plants. Increases adipocyte thermogenesis by modulating PPARγ activity.1 Activates AMP-activated protein kinase/β-catenin signaling to inhibit adipogenesis. Accelerates wound repair by increasing expression of Egr-1 transcription factor. Potential cancer chemopreventive and chemotherapeutic. Provides neuroprotection against traumatic brain injury by inhibition of neuroinflammation in a rat model.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 100 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 month.
