NAD biosynthesis inhibitor

Functions

A highly specific, noncompetitive inhibitor of nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase inhibitor (Ki=0.4 nM). Induces tumor cell apoptosis via gradual intracellular depletion of NAD+. Extends lifespan of human cells mediated by activation of the longevity enzyme SIRT1. Suppresses colorectal cancer cell growth and sensitizes pancreatic adenocarcinoma cells to death by other agents. Cell permeable.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in Water (up to 40 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in distilled water may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 months.
