Glutamate dehydrogenase inhibtor

Functions

Bithionol is an antihelmintic drug with bacteriostatic and fungicidal properties. Bithionol has also been found to be an inhibitor of glutamate dehydrogenase (IC50 = 4.8 µM bovine GDH1).

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 25 mg/ml) or in Ethanol (up to 25 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or Ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 month.
