This teaching kit provides all the necessary reagents to run PCR in an academic teaching lab. This includes linearized template DNA, forward and reverse primers, nuclease-free water and a 2x PCR master mix at pre-optimized concentrations. Ideal for individual students or groups of students working as a team. The kit produces 2 different size DNA products: 500 base pairs and 1,000 base pairs. The 2x PCR Mix is compatible with quantitative real-time PCR instrumentation and gel electrophoresis. A sufficient amount of reagents are provided to complete 5 separate reactions per individual/group. Our protocol recommends a total of 3 reactions per individual/group.

About This Product

Airobes recombinant Taq DNA Polymerase is a thermostable enzyme with carbon molecules sourced from CO₂ in the air. Taq Polymerase synthesizes DNA from single-stranded templates in the presence of dNTPs, a magnesium cofactor, and primers. This recombinant enzyme is cloned from Thermus aquaticus DNA polymerase and expressed in a proprietary strain of E. coli. It consists of a single polypeptide with a molecular weight of 94 kDa. It has a 5' to 3' DNA polymerase activity and 5' to 3' exonuclease activity.

  • Optimized buffer system with potassium chloride and ammonium sulfate

  • One unit of Taq Polymerase catalyzes the incorporation of 10 nmol of dNTPs (deoxyribonucleotides) into a polynucleotide fraction in 30 min at 74°C

  • Includes hot-start Taq DNA Polymerase. Use a 15 minute activation time at 94-95°C

  • Contains SYBR® Green I and (low) ROX Passive Reference Dye for qPCR applications

  • Includes nuclease-free water for convenient reaction setup

  • This kit does not contain a real time PCR instrument / thermal cycler, micropipettes, pipette tips or materials necessary to perform gel electrophoresis analysis of your PCR results

    We recommend a 100-1000 base pair DNA ladder, if you're running gel electrophoresis.
